We are delighted to announce that Tony Auffret has signed with us for his third gripping espionage novel, Imperfectly Innocent!
Having grown up in a one parent family on a northern council estate, Tony Auffret was lucky enough to make it to university, when most kids didn’t, in part thanks to a full student grant. A Joint Honours degree in Botany and Chemistry was followed by a PhD in Molecular Biology.
As a carer for his late wife, he found himself looking for something to do in the mornings. There had been some ‘interesting events’ during his time working in biopreservation that made him wonder if the company had attracted the attention of MI5. Could technology used to stabilise a much needed live vaccine be applied to the stabilisation of more harmful viruses? He had always though those events had the makings of a good tale and thus The Death of a Smoker was conceived. Initially he had not intended a sequel, but unable to find a suitable way to deal with the villain, he let him escape, opening the door to a second novel Unsavoury Business. Requests for ‘what happens next?’ led to the writing of Imperfectly Innocent.
Coming 2025, Imperfectly Innocent is the thrilling third novel in Tufton Street Saga. Harry Nevile is an intelligence officer, he’s not a spy and doesn’t act covertly, but now he may have no choice. The future of his unit is uncertain, one of his people is dead, another arrested and his boss, who has disappeared, is accused of treason. There is evidence, but facts are one thing, interpretation is another. Especially as new information comes to light almost every day, revelations that change his perspective and understanding…
