We are delighted to announce that Robert Fraser has signed with us for his collection of tales, Tartini’s Rest: Tales Two Brothers Told!
Robert Fraser was educated at Winchester Cathedral’s ancient choir school and at the universities of Sussex and London. His twenty-seven published books include biography, memoir, poetry, fiction, drama, and academic studies of Marcel Proust (1994), Sir James Frazer (1990), Victorian Quest Romance (2000), the ancient roots of biography (2021), and the international book trade (2008).
Tartini’s Rest: Tales Two Brothers Told is a sequence of stories told in conversation by two brothers whose contrasting personalities see them view the world and events differently, including their family history. They swap stories and jostle with insights, often contradicting one another as brothers do. The book is set in Italy, Nevada, Africa, France, Russia, London, Edinburgh and the afterlife. Through a blend of romance, satire and farce, its contrasted narrators conspire, argue and clash. In the process they explore the boundaries between fact and fiction, truth and counterfeit, vision, reality, the imagination, fantasy and outright lies.
Tartini’s Rest: Tales Two Brothers Told is coming 2025, but in the meantime check out more of Fraser’s works:
