Here at Cranthorpe Millner Publishers, we love books. Any excuse to buy, give, receive or read a book and we are up for it. This is how we came across the wonderful Icelandic tradition known as the ‘Christmas book flood’, where Icelanders give and receive books on Christmas Eve. The idea is that books are wrapped and placed under the tree. Then, after gifts are exchanged, families take the time to sit and read their books together. What a wonderful idea, and a great reason to go book shopping too! Christmas Eve book giving is definitely a trend that we can get on board with.
