We are delighted to announce that Jo O’Riordan has signed with us for her children’s picture book, Do Snakes Have Whiskers?
Jo O’Riordan completed an undergraduate joint-honours degree at the University of Glasgow in Politics and Sociology and graduated in 2008. After graduating, she spent some travelling and then earned a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching) so she could teach English as a foreign language. She then spent two years teaching in the UK, Ireland and South Korea before returning to higher education and completing postgraduate studies in Journalism at the University of the West of Scotland.
Jo now lives in Edinburgh with her husband, 4-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter. As a family, they enjoy reading every single day and Jo has never put her children to bed without reading bedtime stories!
Her new children’s book was inspired by her son asking the very question – “do snakes have whiskers?” and aims to give factual information to young children about snakes in a playful and humorous way. Do snakes have whiskers? Do they talk to their friends? Can they play the drums?
Keep an eye out for Do Snakes Have Whiskers? in your local bookshops and online in 2025!
