Lauren started writing Is She Me? having faced her own mortality in the pandemic with her immune deficiency. The keys kept tapping, fuelled by the twists and turns of life and an early career working closely and volunteering with people.
Reading depictions of women’s trauma in fiction, Lauren knew she wanted to publish and hasn’t looked back. She writes emotionally captivating, deep-dive, page turning romance with varied human stories. Her characters have all their colours, moods and wonderfully human quirks.
Is She Me? follows Elle who runs from the toxic community that has been her home for twenty years when she finds the hidden photo of a famous missing girl and wonders if it could be her. Ben hides behind his bad moods, never forgiving his father for sacrificing his own life to save another family when working as a firefighter.
