We’re pleased to announce that Emma Hooks has signed with us for her adult fantasy romance Sentinel, featuring themes of found family, the seduction of power, and the fight for one’s destiny.
Emma Hooks is an American and Irish author, actor, director, and business owner. She holds a B.A. in Theatre Performance and Broadcast Journalism from American University, and has trained with the British American Drama Academy. In the D.C. region, she has adapted several classical plays to explore their treatment of female sexuality, with the aim of creating greater representation for fellow Queer women in the classical canon.
One of these adaptations, The Changeling, has been produced by the American University Rude Mechanicals and the Shakesqueer Theatre Company. Most recently, her short play, Post-Mortem, was produced at Spotlighters Theatre in Baltimore. In 2013, she appeared on the ABC reality show Shark Tank, where she secured a partnership with Lori Greiner for her business, ScreenMend. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her wife and their very spoiled beagle.
