R. S. K. Archer grew up in and around Cambridge before moving to Edinburgh for university. She indulged her love of astronomy by studying physics, and subsequently through her master’s she discovered a passion for education and became a physics teacher. She loved Edinburgh and exploring Scotland so much she made it her home for the next twelve years. However, a new work opportunity brought her back to her hometown of Cambridge, which she has loved rediscovering as an adult.
Since leaving teaching, R. S. K. Archer now tutors maths and physics part time whilst running after her two energetic twin boys. Since her children have started school, she has finally had time to fulfil her passion for writing and now writes at every available opportunity. She and her husband often return to Scotland whenever they get the chance, dragging their children up hills with the promise of biscuits, and hope to make the move back one day.
