Children’s Book Week began in 1919, making this year it’s 105th anniversary. It’s a celebration of books and the joy they bring. This year’s theme is “No Rules, Just Read”, a slogan we can definitely get onboard with!
This annual celebration of children’s book helps to remind children everywhere to just read. There is no right or wrong way to read, and no right or wrong thing to read. This is what Children’s Book Week is all about.
Reading has such an powerful impact on a child’s development. It will influence their language and communication skills and encourage their imagination to run wild. Reading helps to develop a child’s creative skills and inspire emotional awareness, enhancing their empathy and understanding of the world.
To celebrate Children’s Book Week, we have put together a list of book recommendations for children to dive into, not only this week, but all year round. There is a real power to storytelling and true pleasure that comes from reading a good book.
Remember, there are no rules to reading… JUST READ!
