To celebrate Mother’s Day we asked Brenda Burling, author of Mother’s Love, to share some thoughts on her upcoming novel.
“Mother’s Day, the day we celebrate all a mother does, means and bestows. A day where there is the opportunity to give back just a little of what has been received – recognition of the love, the nurturing, encouragement and sacrifice.
In keeping with the theme, my new book Mother’s Love begins with the plight of a new mother-to-be in the 60’s, alone, striking out to give the best she can for her baby. Mother’s Love is a story of resilience, courage and strength. A new direction in life, new surroundings and a chance meeting changes everything. It is also a story of motherhood, of sisterhood, family in all forms and intricacies, encompassing the relationship of mother and child regardless of age or social stature. An illustration of the protectiveness from mother to child… and child to mother.
Life throws many curve balls but family and love bonds all. Let us not be remiss, a mother is also a woman…with needs, dreams and aspirations of her own. Her story not always at the forefront but forever there nonetheless and always to be considered.
To all the mothers, in all guises (mothers of fur babies of course included) I wish you a wonderful Mother’s Day and hope it brings great love and happiness.
Mother’s Love is available for pre-order now. Out 25th May 2023.”
