Every year on June 24th, something magical stirs in the air. The trees seem to whisper, wildflowers bloom just a little brighter, and if you’re quiet enough, you might even hear the soft rustle of wings. International Fairy Day celebrates enchantment and wonder, encouraging people of all ages to honor the spirit of the fae — those elusive, mischievous, and beautiful creatures of folklore.
And who better to celebrate Fairy Day with than the mischievous Prince of the Winter Court himself. Read on for a enchanting letter from Aalto to his beloved:
Dear Moon,
I am sat here, reluctantly, writing this letter when I wish you could be in my arms instead, but you told me rather firmly today that I must take care of my court, instead of trying to spend all my time with you. But how can I concentrate when all my thoughts run to you? I want to fist your fiery red hair in my hands, rain kisses upon your body, and drive you as crazy with lust as you do my thoughts.
How funny it is, that it has taken a human to melt my cold Winter fae heart? Do you not know how much stronger I am because of you? With you by my side as my Queen, I wouldn’t need to sit here signing letters for my Court alone, because you’d be with me. (Please consider it?)
I would worship you, my Queen. I am but the tide, at your mercy oh Moon; please push and pull me where you wish, for I will go nowhere but where you demand me…
Hence why I am sitting here. Writing this. (Can you not demand something else of me?)
Ok, perhaps not doing exactly what you asked…I got my aide to respond to the Court’s letters, so in a way I am looking after my court as you requested. (I’ve been good… come reward me?). And really… you should know to be more specific when talking to a fae now, my love.
I digress. I have something that would please you! I was researching humans, and I discovered that today is International Fairy Day! A day where you celebrate us, your fae.
So really my dear, what are you doing leaving me at Court, when you can be showing me all the wicked ways that you could celebrate me? Or better yet… let me remind you, my love, of how to truly celebrate, and let me end today with a bang (of fireworks, of course).
(Unless I can persuade you of other types? ;))
With fondest love,
(Please don’t leave me at Court again)
Aalto
