We’re thrilled to announce Russell Wate has signed with us for the gripping final instalment in the DCI McFarlane crime series, Getting Away With Murder!
Russell Wate is a retired senior homicide detective, with over 100 major crime enquiries under his belt. Writing crime fiction started as a 2020 lockdown project and his first novel, Greed is a Powerful Motive, received such positive feedback that it inspired Russell to write four more books in the DCI McFarlane series. The series is written in an authentic manner, with the narrative based on how he would investigate the suspicious deaths, using all the modern-day techniques available, and how he would present his findings during the subsequent court case.
Getting Away With Murder is inspired by the friendship between Alfred Lord Tennyson and Arthur Hallam. Set in modern times, the story follows DCI McFarlane as he investigates the death of Arthur after being found dead in a hotel room in Vienna. This is a compelling and authentic crime mystery that will hook readers in and on the edge of their seats with all the twists and turns! All set against the backdrop of Vienna, Cambridge and Stamford in England.
