We are delighted to announce that Jess Blatchley has signed with us for her creepy, psychological thriller, Roofboy!
As well as being an author, Jess Blatchley enjoys a portfolio career as a singer and singing teacher. Now living in Gloucestershire, Jess writes fiction and creative non-fiction and her debut novel Roofboy, is a slow-burning thriller that even took Jess by surprise.
Fascinated by complex, nuanced characters, Jess enjoys exploring an unreliable protagonist, as well as keeping her readers guessing about who they should root for and trust. Her fascination with contradictory human behaviour, stems from her experience of being recruited into a religious cult in her early teens, where Jess spent twenty years of her life. Much of her writing is inspired by her survival and recovery from that environment, and Jess devotes some of her time to supporting people exiting toxic groups and healing from spiritual abuse.
Roofboy is a novel that grips with quiet dread, makes you question your instincts, and leaves you wondering where nurture ends and nature begins.
In a remote cottage, a single mum, fearful that her son could be a future psychopath, resorts to drastic measures to attempt to reverse his nature, asking the chilling question: are murderers born or created?
