We are pleased to announce that Emma Woodhouse, author of Mercy, has signed with us for her second historical fiction novel Ann Morgan, Hellish Beauty. Pieced together from historical records, this is the life story of Ann Morgan, whose murder shook the foundations of life in rural Shropshire and whose existence was so reviled by the authorities, they burned her belongings in an attempt to erase her from history.
Emma Woodhouse is a teacher, novelist and historical non-fiction writer who specialises in telling the forgotten histories of real Victorian women. With four novels and two non-fiction books to her name, Woodhouse continues to research forgotten women in her efforts to reinstate histories that have been silenced. Woodhouse holds an MA in Contemporary Creative Writing and has also had articles published in historical magazines. Ann Morgan, Hellish Beauty, is a history with local interest for Woodhouse, amalgamating the local folklore of her home county of Shropshire with a truly unforgettable real crime story.
Due for publication in late 2026, Ann Morgan, Hellish Beauty is perfect for readers who enjoy historical fiction based within truth.
