We are excited to announce that Simon Curtin recently signed with us for his captivating book about the eight-year-long Belvoir Osprey project that culminated in a successful brood of two chicks in 2022, ending over two centuries’ wait and making the national press and TV.
If You Build It, He Will Come is the story of the persistence, collaboration and coincidences that brought the previously extinct osprey back to the beautiful Belvoir area of England. This book will prove what can be achieved should we take positive action on any conservation project.
Curtin says: “This is a story of many twists and turns, of coincidences, fate or serendipity (whichever you believe in), and a story of collaboration across many people.
In a recent twist of fate, the osprey at the heart of the story, Blue 4K, sadly died this year (February 2023) in Africa before returning to breed. A poignant and timely reminder for continued persistence and determination to continue the project.”
