We’re delighted to reveal the covers of our upcoming August releases!
STARS ON THE BLUE HORIZON
Stars on the Blue Horizon is the first in the ‘Every Colour You Are’ series, a two-book adventure that takes the reader to some of the darkest corners of continental Europe. Set in the years following the collapse of the Berlin Wall, the novel follows protagonist David as he searches for the mysterious red-haired woman who keeps appearing in his dreams.
Driven by his obsession with finding her, despite not knowing whether she exists, David travels across Europe to familiar locations from his dreams, in the hope she will appear. But as he finds himself inadvertently involved in the seedy underworld of Amsterdam, David realises that those closest to him might not be the friends he thought they were, and he begins to question who he can trust, and whether the girl in his dreams will save him… or destroy him.
I DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING
I Didn’t See That Coming offers a fresh take on women’s fiction, emphasising the value of learning from our mistakes.
The story follows 33-year-old Louise, who has spent most of her life falling in and out of unfulfilling romantic relationships. Married father-of-two, Dan, is no exception, but Louise is hopeful that their passion will ultimately blossom into something tangible.
As Louise navigates the ups and downs of her new relationship, she slowly comes to realise, with the help of her friends, music, and holidays in the sun, that she is worth more than what Dan is willing to offer her, and that she deserves a brighter future with someone who really cares.
LEAVING FATHERLAND
Leaving Fatherland is a poignant tale of discovering one’s true identity. Providing a unique take on what it was like to be in the Luftwaffe during the Second World War, Leaving Fatherland follows book-loving protagonist Oskar from his abusive childhood in Nazi Germany through a war, a failed marriage, and forty years of research, as he seeks out the real reason why his father beat him as a child.
This gripping story portrays a tapestry of characters who straddle both sides of the conflict, highlighting the uncomfortable truth that we are often driven by our parents’ wishes, rather than our own. With scenes based on the real life experiences of his German uncle, Leaving Fatherland is inspired by Graydon’s meticulous research into the complexities of the war.
THE BLIGHTED SON
The Blighted Son tells the extraordinary story of heart transplant recipient James Fisher, whose lifesaving surgical procedure has entirely unexpected consequences.
Drawing on his memory of witnessing the North West’s pioneering first heart transplant, during his time as Health and Medical Correspondent for the Manchester Evening News, author Peter Harris delivers a captivating psychological thriller tackling racial prejudice, medical ‘miracles’, and the importance of self-reflection.
