We are pleased to announce that Maigaelle Moulene, a French-Vietnamese doctor-turned-writer, has signed with her for her first historical fiction novel The Midwife of Saigon. Spanning 75 years of Vietnam’s most tumultuous recent history, it is told through the memories of Anh, the obstacles she faces, the choices she makes and the events that shape her. It is a story about love and loss, courage and determination, resilience and hope, and finding peace through adversity.
Dr Maigaelle Moulene has a liberal arts degree from Columbia University, and a medical and surgical degree from St. George’s, University of London, where she delivered babies, looked after dementia patients, and everyone in between. Moulene spent a lot of time in Vietnam in her 20s, volunteering in cerebral palsy orphanages and doing a medical elective at a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon). Her writing has appeared in the Saturday Times Magazine, the Times, Female First, efinancial, Corner Magazine and more.
The Midwife of Saigon is due to be published in Spring 2027.
